Four rankings on health: health expenditure per capita, life expectancy, the suicide rate and under-five mortality.
Under-five mortality is worth following in particular, because it is the clearest record of improvement on this site. The 30-country average fell from 282.15 per 1,000 live births in 1960 to 72.76 in 2024, and the largest declines happened in the worst-affected countries — Afghanistan fell to nearly a seventh of its former rate. In this table, a country dropping in rank is good news.
