The totals and the per-person view produce completely different pictures. China, first in the world for combined solar and wind generation, ranks 24th per person, while Australia and the Netherlands rise into the top five. Whether "renewable superpower" refers to totals or to the per-person figure closer to everyday life changes who the leading players are entirely.
