Statistics about the shape of everyday life: food culture, sport, cultural facilities and household composition. It includes libraries, museums and public sports facilities by prefecture, along with the regional food preferences visible in household spending data.

When reading the public-facility series, note that the years in which all 47 prefectures report are limited. Public sports facilities have complete coverage in only 13 of 44 years, and a gap in a line means the prefecture was not surveyed that year rather than that facilities disappeared. To compare prefectures, cut the chart at a year with full coverage.
