Japanese weather statistics — temperature, precipitation, sunshine hours — alongside world environmental data: CO2 and methane emissions, forest share of land, freshwater withdrawal and primary energy consumption. Generation from solar, wind, hydro and nuclear sits here too.

The weather series swing violently from year to year. The 47-prefecture average for precipitation fell 44% in a single year, from 1,991 mm in 1993 to 1,123 mm in 1994. Never read a trend off one year; smooth over a decade instead. Note also that each prefecture is represented by a single official weather station, not an average across its territory.
